I went shoppong for easter Monday for my partner then yesterday got told he put money on the counter to go easter shopping for myself. He is hopeless we have been together 6 years frist two year he was great he bought my bithday, easter and chistmas gift but now I have to buy my own which I don't mind sometimes but sometime do wish I could be surprise. I think I am asking is a men thing of do I just have a hopeless partner.
Naaahh...heaps of partners are like that. My certainly is! If I don't ask, I don't get. We've been together for 17 years and he's totally useless at buying gifts, but I love him anyway :-) Think of it this way, at least you'll get what you like! Always good to see the positive in everything.
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone. Here's a little ((comforting hug)) for you. :)
ReplyDeleteOhh don't be upset, at least your partner thought of you :)) Just think of the wonderful things you can surprise him with :)) Loads of fun :))
ReplyDeleteI would much rather receive a surprise gift too. Buying your own i like getting money as a gift and means nothing. I want something others put some thought into. But a bucket of chocolate is a wonderful gift.
ReplyDeleteI was blog hopping and found you. love your blog and buy lots of yarn or thread with the "gift" money. I will be checking back in with you from time to time. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend. I've been married 40 years and we just don't buy gifts anymore. What could we need? Or want that we don't get for ourselves? We cherish much more the small acts, like drying dishes without being asked. Or pulling the car over so I don't have to step in a mud puddle. Keep an eye out for the little things....or sit down and have a little talk. We each have our love language and maybe he needs to find out what yours is.
